Who we are and what this notice covers
OptionSpace is operated by Options Universe Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as “OptionSpace”. This notice covers our website, launch-update list, beta applications, data API, paid subscriptions and billing, and communications with us. The information involved depends on which services you use.
If your organization has a separate agreement with us, that agreement may also address the handling of information provided for the service. Third-party AI clients and other external services have their own privacy practices.
Information we receive
- Launch updates and inquiries: your email address, signup time, and any name, organization or other details you choose to provide.
- Accounts and access: account identifiers, email addresses, authentication information supplied by our sign-in provider, organization membership, access permissions, and API key-management records.
- Subscriptions and payments: your billing name and address, the plan you choose, your payment and invoice history, a record of what you agreed to at checkout, and limited details of your payment method that our payment processor shares with us. See “Payments and subscriptions” below.
- Your acceptance of our terms: when you create an account, you tick a box to accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and our sign-in provider, Clerk, records the date and time you did so. We use that record to show what you agreed to. We keep it while you have an account, and we may keep a copy for up to 3 years after you close it.
- Research and application inputs: the symbols, dates, queries, analysis settings, saved watchlists, simulated positions, trade records and feedback you provide when using the relevant features.
- Service usage: requested routes and query parameters, selected analysis inputs used for diagnostics, timestamps, response status, processing time and returned-row counts. Usage can be associated with an account, organization or API key identifier.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser and device details, referring pages and approximate location information processed by our servers, hosting providers or analytics services.
The launch form asks only for an email address. Please do not send passwords, secret API keys or confidential trading information through that form or ordinary email.
How we use information
We use information to provide requested services, authenticate users, enforce access permissions and usage limits, save requested research settings, respond to inquiries, diagnose errors, understand product usage, improve the service, protect security and meet legal obligations. We also send the launch updates you request and maintain communication preferences.
For paid plans, we also use information to take payments, calculate sales tax, confirm that self-serve customers are located in the United States, send the notices that our subscription terms and the law require, keep a record of what you agreed to, and handle refunds, failed payments and payment disputes.
We also use account, usage, technical and payment-method information to detect and prevent breaches of our Terms, such as sharing an account or using a plan to make a copy of our data, including by finding accounts that appear to be linked, for example by a shared IP address or payment method. If we find a likely breach, we may limit or block access as our Terms describe, and we will tell you.
Joining the launch list does not create a paid subscription or a customer account. Viewing a recorded Python or AI demonstration does not send your own questions to an AI provider.
Payments and subscriptions
- Your payment details go to Stripe. Our payment processor, Stripe, collects your card or bank-account details on its own checkout page. We never receive your full card number, its security code, or your bank sign-in details. If you pay from a bank account, you connect it by signing in to your bank through Stripe, under Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy.
- What Stripe shares with us. Your billing name and address, and limited details of your payment method: for a card, its brand, last four digits, expiry date and the country that issued it; for a bank account, the bank’s name, the account type and the last four digits. We also see the status of each payment, refund and dispute. Stripe also gives us an identifier for each card or bank account. It does not reveal the number, but it lets us tell when the same payment method is used on more than one account.
- Where you are located. We use your billing address and the country of your payment method to confirm that self-serve customers are in the United States, to calculate sales tax (Stripe calculates it for us), and to give New York customers the rights that New York law provides.
- Your checkout record. When you subscribe or change your plan, we keep a record of what you agreed to: the exact text of the commitment you were shown, the boxes you ticked, your account email, the plan, the time, your IP address and your browser details, together with Stripe’s record of your acceptance of our terms. We keep it for at least 3 years, or for 1 year after your subscription ends if that is later.
- Billing emails. We send billing emails, such as your confirmation, renewal and price notices, and messages about payment problems, through our email provider, Resend. We keep a copy of each billing email we send and a record of its delivery. Stripe separately emails you receipts and, if you pay from a bank account, a copy of your debit authorization.
- Payment disputes. If you dispute a payment with your card issuer or bank, we may give them, through Stripe, records of your subscription: your checkout record, the emails we sent you, your receipts and your use of the service.
- Accounts billed by invoice. For organizations billed by invoice under a separate agreement, we also keep the agreement, billing contacts and purchase-order details.
PostHog analytics and session recordings
We use PostHog for analytics and, where enabled, session recording to understand how people use OptionSpace and to diagnose usability problems. Analytics can include page visits, clicks, navigation, browser and device information, approximate location and visitor or session identifiers.
Session recordings reproduce page content and interactions, subject to the masking settings enabled for that page. They may include on-screen research information. Analytics or diagnostic records can be associated with a browser, session or signed-in account; they should not be treated as necessarily anonymous.
Our website analytics configuration respects the browser’s Do Not Track setting. This does not prevent processing needed for authentication, API metering, service delivery or security logs. Browser privacy controls and content blockers may also limit analytics collection.
Service providers and sharing
- PostHog: product analytics and session recording. Privacy policy.
- Clerk: account authentication and related sign-in functions. Privacy policy.
- Stripe: payment processing, bank-account verification, sales-tax calculation, invoices and receipts. Privacy policy.
- Resend: delivery of billing emails. Privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: website delivery and security, plus Workers and D1 for launch-list signup and storage. Privacy policy.

We do not sell the launch list or billing information, or use them for third-party advertising. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Where access is provided through an organization, administrators may manage members, permissions and shared usage. Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Their privacy notices describe their separate handling of information.
Cookies, browser storage and AI tools
Cookies and similar technologies may support authentication, analytics and preferences. Your selected light, dark or system theme is stored in your browser. Applications may also save interface preferences locally. Clearing or blocking storage can affect sign-in and saved settings.
If you connect the OptionSpace Python package or MCP tools to an AI client, that client may receive your prompts, tool requests and returned OptionSpace data. Its provider’s terms and privacy notice govern that processing. Your account settings and tool permissions determine what the client can access.
How long information is kept
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice, taking account of your account or subscription status, the feature involved, security needs and legal obligations. We may keep limited records to respect an opt-out request, resolve disputes or protect the service.
Billing records, including invoices, payment and tax records, checkout records and copies of billing emails, are kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and consumer-protection purposes and to resolve disputes. Checkout records are kept for at least the period described under “Payments and subscriptions”.
Analytics, recordings, service logs and backups can have different retention periods depending on the provider and configuration. Deleting an account or unsubscribing does not necessarily remove every operational record immediately.
Your choices and requests
You can stop launch updates using the unsubscribe method in a message or by emailing [email protected] with “Unsubscribe” in the subject. You can clear the saved theme preference using your browser’s site-data settings.
Billing emails that our subscription terms or the law require, such as renewal and price notices, are not marketing, and they continue while you have a paid plan.
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some billing records must be kept even after a deletion request, for the reasons above.
Security and children
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no website, storage system or email channel can be guaranteed secure. The website is intended for adults conducting professional or personal research, and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when this notice changes. If we materially change how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
